Re: West Ham Announce 5 year deal with Umbro

Financial terms of the new Umbro agreement have not been released but it is thought to be worth around UKĀ£4 million a year, or twice as much as the Adidas deal signed in May 2013.

They must have offered us a much more lucrative deal than other manufacturers which is why we've gone with them...
Simple as that, really...

Nothing wrong with Umbro, they are a traditional kit maker so know their onions.
Anyone who is bothered about whether it is a 'fashionable' name is a knob.
Umbro kits and black football boots job done.

I just want Karren Brady to shut the fuck up. she goes on and on interminably about our famous heritage and history, yet supports the fat fuck Allardyce and so at the same time appearing not to recognise our traditions of playing attractive football, our culture or heritage at all.

Umbro, its ok all rounder
Hope they make a different kit im sure they can give 3 designs for a big company if West Ham asked them.
Also when we had Umbro Man city had them and had a brilliant limited edition kit same as England while we had the template shit.
Hope we get the quality one now we are on the verge of being man city of the south!

That previous Umbro shirt makes me feel sick.
It's probably my least favourite West Ham shirt in my lifetime with claret sleeves? bloody disgrace of a design.

Umbro are utter gash But at least supporters will be able to get them at sports direct stores.
Allardyce, Nolan and Umbro, what a statement of intent

Trevor B Unfortunately I don't have numbers to make a comparison but I know we signed it with Adidas UK and through Steve Holland exactly the same as Brentford did.
The reason I am pretty confident about our deal not being too dissimilar is that Adidas UK basically offered and still does I expect the same deal to all clubs, in that they supply all kit and training wear free of charge and an advanced payment but this figure also reflects a figure for the supply of replica kits, for example the deal might be £100.000 but only half that is cash and the other half in goods, with further supplies paid for by the club at a agreed price.
I know someone pretty well who worked at Charlton and this was deal they were offered around the same time we did ours and he didn't think our would much different other than numbers as that was the standard deal.
Charlton went with Just Sport who license Nike in the UK who basically pay you a set figure but take over the merchandise arm of the club yet many fans still think actually have deal direct with Nike. Likewise we have a deal directly with Adidas UK with a limited budget whereas I am pretty sure Chelsea and Manchester United are contracted with their Head Office hence completely differently structured deals, which usually involves a massive upfront payment but allows the supplier to keep the income outside of the club shops hence why you see these kits much more widely available around the world.
The reality for us is to get a deal that gives us more money with less strings attached is at this time going to be with an Umbro or its kind.
